Necessarily Unnecessary

Somethings you would think are obvious. Perhaps not. As I stood and laughed, I could not help but also feel a sort of sad paradox. We have signs directing us every day – merge, yield, speed limit, last exit for miles, lane closed, push, pull, enter and exit, one way, and even dead end. The all seem to direct our physical movement in some way. I guess we just assume that our physical movement could cause more harm. Maybe that is why there are no signs saying: smile, compassion, human being or earth handle with care, fragile heart, needs a hug, hatred ahead merge with love, enter for your dream, you’re beautiful, you are loved, the world needs you, you can do it, you have choice, no negative self-talk allowed, or even live as if it were your last hour on earth – it may well be.  I wonder if we truly realized the speed at which our thoughts, actions, and words moved, compared to the speed of our physical movement, if such signs might not appear. But then, if we truly realized that, perhaps such signs would not be necessary.
