Spring’s Robins made their appearance today. I smiled. I laughed to think of our local nursery which will not sell plants until the end of May because of the threat of frost and snow. There stood the singing defiant Robin. I pondered the curtains of seasons rising and falling. How similar to the dance of sun and moon. Sunrise is also moon setting. Sunset is likewise moon rise. Is winter’s curtain closing or rising? Is not winter’s intent the rest and renewal so necessary for spring’s burst? Is the attainment of an intent the end or the beginning? Does not winter’s debris fill the rising sap nurturing spring’s growth?
The ponder returned the image of the sun, blue sky, and vapor trails dancing over the prairie last weekend. One of those precious pre-spring days that you cherish knowing winter’s work is still incomplete. Ram Das said “We’re all just walking each other home.” Spring walking winter home accompanied by the Robin’s song and the playful pre-spring day. I bowed to the season’s journey. I pondered the conversation. Then, the sweet gentle whisper…”We’re ALL just walking each other home.” And with another bow and chuckle, I closed my eyes, opened my heart, lifted my hands…and began walking all home.
