A day of remembrance in the U.S. The phrase memorialized is “We will never forget.” The same phrase used to remember the 6 million Jewish people who were gathered and annihilated in the holocaust 80 years ago (1933-1945). A phrase perhaps used by Native American Indians to memorialize tens of thousands of ancestors intentionally killed (including forced marches) and even more who died from diseases unknown to their bodies. The list goes on with religious, civil, racial, political and economic wars engaged throughout the comparatively relatively brief span of human time upon the earth. Then to add the extinction of species and human destruction upon the earth. Perhaps, we do forget.
On this day, I instead ponder remembering rather than not forgetting. To remember

Yet I keep them, because in spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart” ~ Anne Frank I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one ~ John Lennon
