Right: “that which is morally right, duty, obligation,” also “rule of conduct; law of a land;” also “what someone deserves; a just claim, what is due; correctness, truth; a legal entitlement, a privilege.”
Responsible(ility): “answerable” (to another, for something), “to respond.” Meaning “accountable for one’s actions.”
I may or may not have a right. I will never be without responsibility. If I should be granted a right I have simultaneously increased my responsibility. A right is fleeting. Responsibility is unremitting.
May all hearts be opened, cupped, and fearless to metta’s gentle feather. The “perfect love that casteth out fear.” May the voice of our hearts be answerable not to a right but our innate responsibility to all. To love.
