I mourned the cutting of the tree as I walked beside the river. Then I smiled to think of how the bark created an image of the sun. A tree sun. The smile stayed with me as I walked to the end of the path. On the return, I stopped to greet the tree sun again and I squealed with delight. The change in position gifted yet another image. If you look closely you can see an image of the character ET staring back. Oh yes, I know this little hobbit is a dork. I gladly plead guilty. But the whisper always reminds me that as long as I can see such fanciful and delightful images in nature, when my eyes meet another, I can see beyond what is presented…. and smile.
