The mountains gift such beauty. They also hide a strawberry moon’s colorful rise. I did see her yellow glow but this is the image that made my heart sigh. I who wanted so to go where I could see her rise away from the mountains, turned back, knowing I could not drive in the dark. Like Piglet in Winnie the Pooh, I wasn’t so brave.
Her redness was gone. No, the mountains did not deny. Many have seen her redness. Others will in decades to come. But this little hobbit who cannot see well in the day, and not at all in the night, was gifted strawberry sweetness. I got to see a tree’s leaves in the dark.
Sweet moon, you always come in the form we need.
