The image could well be the portent of an ominous event about to happen in a movie. The night sky and winter’s arthritic trees silhouetted against the clouds have been used so often to suggest something bad about to occur. The image does look stark. But the moon was so full. The clouds were as brilliant white as they are during the day. The bent, reaching unadorned tree arms and fingers seemed to hold them in place, perhaps a game of tag. One could also think the image a black and white photo of the day’s image. So many ways to see the image. Perchance the simple whisper was a reminder how often we see from the heart.
Could I hold the camera steady so the image that touched my heart would not be blurred? I, who cannot change the settings on my camera, did not know if I had allowed the camera to capture the textures. So much could go wrong. I pressed the shutter button holding my breath with a whispered “please.” Yes, so many ways to see the image. Perchance, yes, a reminder of the many ways the eyes and heart can see. But when all is truly said and done, for this little hobbit, the moon and night left a kiss upon my heart.
