The clouds are walking heavy upon the sky. My little dog is barking at the thunder. Half of the sky is bright blue and brilliant sunshine. The other half midnight black. Suddenly golf ball size hail has started to fall. As I watch and listen the hail transforms into rain. Ten minutes or so ago I was watching the bees dance and listening to their hum. And since that last sentence was typed the midnight black has muted to a dull gray blue sky and the departing rain has left a rainbow. I sit here as the birds return listening to their songs against the heart’s memory of the songs of bees. Simply here. Simply being. Simple magnificence and awe.
